After scoring an underwhelming first place in German elections, it didn’t take long for the party formerly defined as center-right to give its clearest indication yet how far-right it plans to govern. If given the chance, the Christian Democrats will conduct a top-to-bottom review of German NGOs to ensure that their democratic activism — say, against the far-right creep of the Christian Democrats — aligns with what Christian Democrats believe is appropriate democratic activism.
They’ve taken a similar step at the EU level.

Naturally, The Bupkes supports these efforts and hopes Elon Musk can come out to play when he’s got time. Non-profit and non-governmental organizations, after all, must work in the interest of all civil society. That’s why the CDU, with the help of other mainstream parties, have been so diligently chipping away at civil society, namely in the form of repressing artistic, cultural, and academic freedom.
Now, it’s time to take it to the next level. There is nothing more insidious than a foreign agent posing as a harmless non-profit, especially when the foreign country the agent represents is an openly hostile one. So it looks like the Judenrat Zentralrat is gonna have to go. It’s the only way the CDU can fulfill its promise to protect democracy from those who might wish to undermine it — with the state’s own backing.
Such a move might run into German Staatsräson, which makes the foreign interest a domestic one, but since that’s unconstitutional anyway — and Germany doesn’t have a constitution — it shouldn’t matter much.
